UNHRC 46TH SESSION REPORT ON SL: GoSL RESPONSE TODAY

COLOMBO (News 1st): The response of the Sri Lankan government to the report sent by Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is expected to be delivered by Tuesday evening (Jan. 26), Sri Lanka's Foreign Secretary said. "Sri Lanka received the Human Rights High Commissioner's report on Sri Lanka for the 46th session of the Human Rights Council; the facts presented in the report are currently being studied one by one, on the shortcomings of the facts presented and wrong arguments," Foreign Secretary, Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage told News 1st. Thereby, the Foreign Secretary was hopeful upon analysing the report in-depth, a response on Sri Lanka's observations with regard to the concerns raised in the report could be provided by this evening; and that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will pay attention to the said matters and table Sri Lanka's report as well at the 46th session of the UNHRC.
