Colombo (News 1st); The Government's attempt to release 49% of the East Container Terminal is cause for serious concern, said Venerable Akmeemana Dayarathana Thero, the chair of the Sinhala Ravaya National Organization.
The thero questioned if the government is operating to the needs of a group of traffickers and also raised concerns over the allegiance to India. The Venerable Thero further said 6.9 million people exercised their franchise aspiring the tough decisions taken by the former Defence Secretary, would be repeated, and sadly it did not transpire. He warned the government to ensure it operates in a manner that would not force the Maha Sangha to step out onto the streets in protest, adding it that happens, it would be a serious disadvantage for the government.
