Hambantota Farmers continue Satyagraha

Hambantota, Newss 1st; The farmers of Walsapugala, Hambantota, who began their protest on the 18th of January demanding that the Wild Elephant Management Reserve in Sooriyaweva be gazzetted, continued their protest today. The protesters believe the move will be the solution to the elephant problem they are facing. The protest was temporarily brought to a halt after Minister Chamal Rajapaksa promised to resolve the issue within a month, however, the farmers have decided to continue the Satyagraha until the relevant gazette notification is issued
