POLICE UNIT TO PROBE LAND FRAUD

Colombo (News 1st); A new Police Unit was set up at the Ministry of Lands on Tuesday (19) and this unit will be tasked with investigating the abuse of lands owned by the Ministry and the Land Reform Commission, and institute necessary legal action.
The Police Unit of the Ministry of Lands will be led by Retired Senior DIG Sumith Edirisinghe.
S. M. Chandrasena, the Minister of Lands speaking to reporters said anyone can contact the police unit via the hotline 1938 and report an incident of land fraud.
