CSE record's highest price index in history

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Colombo Stock Exchange recorded it's highest price index in history today. The performance of the stock market is assessed based on the fluctuations of it's price indices. At the start of this year, the ASPI was at 6,774.22 points. The All Share Price Index of the CSE was noted at 7922.66 today, which is a rise of 188 points as opposed to yesterday. During the course of the day, 67,153 shares had also been traded. The previous high of the ASPI of the Colombo Stock Exchange was witnessed on the 14th of February 2011 at 7,811.80 points. By today it has increased to 1,148.44 points, a rise of 17 percent during the opening 18 days of the year. Accordingly, the market turnover was at 12.2 billion rupees.
