Heavy rains hit multiple Provinces

Colombo (News 1st); Heavy showers were reported in a number of areas including the North, North Central, Eastern and Central provinces. The spill gates of the Kandalama Reservoir and Dambulu Oya reservoir as well as two spill gates of the Kala Oya have been opened owing to heavy rains being experienced. In Anuradhapura, two spill gates of the Kala Oya have also been opened with the entry road to the Aukana Rajamaha Viharaya has been inundated due to heavy rain. 6 spill gates of the Rajanganaya Reservoir were also opened as a result of the highland water catchment areas receiving heavy rainfall. All 10 spill gates of the Parakrama Samudraya has been opened for 3 straight days.
