NEW MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR FAMILIES OF MONKS

Colombo (News 1st); A new medical insurance scheme for family members of Buddhist Monks, which will provide hospitalization and diagnostic cover, was introduced on Friday (08), in the presence of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Nagaraja Shakya Puthra Gnathi medical insurance will provide medical cover to the mother, father, and siblings of a Buddhist Monk.
For an annual premium of Rs. 2,000/-, insurance of the cover of Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- per day will be given for hospitalization.
According to the new program, for diagnostic tests and medicine during hospitalization another Rs. 25,000/- will be provided.
Further, it is suggested the devotees can donate the policy of Rs. 2000/- to a Buddhist Monk.
