Colombo (News 1st); A 52-year-old Police Sergeant was stabbed on Wednesday (30) night in the Mahawa Town, said Sri Lanka Police.
According to Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana, the Police Sergeant and another officer were on patrol in the Mahawa Town on Wednesday (30) and had observed the suspicious movement of 04 people.
When they were questioned, one of them had stabbed the Police Sergeant and he was admitted to the Mahawa Police and transferred to the Nikaweratiya Hospital.
Two people including the main suspect were arrested by Sri Lanka and the knife used in the crime was recovered, said the Police Spokesperson.
An investigation is underway to arrest the two suspects who escaped the crime scene.
