ONE ESCAPEE FROM COVID-19 TREATMENT FACILITY ARRESTED

Colombo (News 1st); One of the five COVID-19 patients who fled from the Gallella COVID-19 treatment facility was arrested by the Madapme Police and health authorities on Thursday (31) afternoon.
The suspect was identified as a 27-year-old Kavidu Madushan who was initially arrested over an offense related to the dangerous drugs ordinance.
He will be directed to a quarantine facility, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.
Sri Lanka Police is gathering information on those who were involved in harboring the fugitive COVID-19 patient, said the Deputy Police Chief.
A manhunt is underway to locate and arrest the other 04 escapees.
