NAVY SEIZES DRUGS WORTH RS. 60MN IN SEAS OFF GALLE

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Navy successfully seized a consignment of narcotics valued at over Rs. 60 Million from a trawler in the seas off the Galle Fisheries Harbour on Thursday (31).
Sri Lanka Navy Spokesperson Captain Indika De Silva speaking to News 1st said 5.9 kilograms of ICE and 01 kilogram of heroin was seized from the trawler, which is owned by a person in Chilaw.
04 people were arrested and another had fled the scene, said, Captain Silva.
The suspects are residents of Negombo and Panama, while further investigations are carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy.
