Operations of the main office of the Dept. of Inland Revenue to be conducted online

COLOMBO (News 1st): A decision has been reached to conduct daily operations of the main office of the Department of Inland Revenue, online. The decision was reached after two security officers attached to the main office tested positive for COVID-19. "Two state bank offices located at the head office premises will remain open for the payment of taxes,'' Commissioner-General of the Department of Inland Revenue H.M.W.C.Bandara said. He said a special container had been set aside to store tax files. The Commissioner-General added that functions of regional and district offices will continue as usual.
