Police probe sudden death of fisherman at sea

COLOMBO (News1st): An investigation has been launched into the sudden death of a fisherman in the seas off the coast of Mirissa. The fisherman, among a crew of five, had died around half an hour after venturing out to sea from the Mirissa Fisheries Harbour on Sunday. The deceased is a 68-year old father of four and a resident of Weligama. A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on his remains at the Matara General Hospital. The Weligama police are also probing the incident.
