7 bodies of the 11 deceased inmates of the Mahara Prison were identified, Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said.
When the subject was raised in Parliament today, Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella said that the bodies of the deceased at the Mahara prison incident, not being released or identified is a huge injustice.
This was supported by MP JC Aluwathuwala who alleged that documents having been destroyed is the reason behind the failure to identify bodies.
Responding, Minister of Justice, President's Counsel Ali Sabry said that he is unaware of the current status of developments but promised to ensure the process follows the law.
