Night racers to be arrested from today - Police

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police launched a special operation to arrest night racers across the country.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said 24 motorcycles were seized on Sunday (06) night from the Kimbulawala Junction and close to the Jayawardenapura Hospital.

He said the Traffic Police HQ instructed all police stations in the country to arrest night racers.

Strict legal action will be imposed against anyone engaged in night races and driving at excessive speeds said the Police Spokesperson.

Further, modified cars and motorcycles, as well as vehicles with unnecessary lighting and those with high exhaust sounds, will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
