Rs 1000 wage will be paid for plantation workers - labour minister

COLOMBO (News1st): Steps will be taken to ensure that plantation workers are offered a daily wage of Rs 1000 as promised in next year's budget, labour minister Nimal Siripala de Silva has said. The minister had made these remarks in the parliamentary ministerial consultative committee on labour. According to the labour minister, steps will be taken to implement the programme after the budget is passed in Parliament after the final reading.
