487 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday (28)

Colombo (News 1st):  As of Sunday morning (29), a total of 487 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Among them, are 223 persons from Colombo region, 78 persons from Gampaha area and 15 from Kandy region, stated the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 Sunday morning (29), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 19,447.

Meanwhile, 13,223 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (16,388) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

As of Saturday (28), a total of 22,988 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead.

16,655 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,224 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

To-date, 109 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. 

By this morning (29), the flight UL104 from Maldives with 69 passengers and the flight QR668 from Qatar with 45 passengers , the flight UL607 from Australia with 4 passengers ,6E 9034 from India with 4 passengers and UL 226 from Dubai with 292 passengers have arrived in Colombo.

All those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.

As of this morning (29), 5,279 persons in 53 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

Within yesterday (28), 11, 936 PCR tests were carried out.
