Sri Lanka Police clarifies reports on police officers infected with COVID-19

Colombo (News 1st); Around 600 police officers have been infected with the coronavirus, said DIG Ajith Rohana on Thursday (12).
Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana dismissing various reports said the police officers who were exposed to COVID-19 are currently placed in quarantine centers and the numbers revealed are of those who are already in quarantine.
He said around 3000 Police Officers are in quarantine centers and the cases are reported from among them.
The 87,000 strong police force is currently engaged in taking measures to prevent COVID-19 from spreading in Sri Lanka, said DIG Ajith Rohana.
