Colombo (News 1st); SLPP MP Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam said the full lockdown in Sri Lanka would result in serious consequences for the country's economy in the long run, despite a lockdown being an easy option for many.
The government is making attempts to bring control to the situation at present without threatening the lifestyles of the people, he said.
He said the government is engaged in protecting the economy and the people without creating a false sense of fear among the masses.
