Police curfew imposed in Divulapitiya and Minuwangoda Police jurisdictions

News 1st (Colombo): Police curfew has been imposed in the Minuwangoda and Divulapitiya police jurisdictions, with immediate effect, until further notice. The curfew will be in effect for 127 Grama Niladhari divisions. The police curfew comes against a backdrop where a 39-year-old woman from Diwulapitiya has tested positive for COVID-19. Issuing a statement, the Government Information Department said she tested positive when leaving the Gampaha hospital after recovering from a fever. She has been admitted to the Infectious Disease Hospital in Angoda. The statement from the Government Information Department further notes that around 15 staff members at the Gampaha hospital have been directed into self-quarantine. Further, around 40 staff members at a private company, where the 39-year-old individual is employed at, are also undergoing self-quarantine.
