06 police teams investigating Katana money heist

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police assigned 06 teams to locate and arrest the robbers who stole more than Rs. 20 Million from the residence of a Businessman in Katana, at gun-point.

On Wednesday, 30th September a gang of robbers made a get-away with more than Rs. 20 Million from a businessman's house in the 'Akkara Panaha (50 Acre)' area in Katana.

Sri Lanka Police said 05 masked and armed robbers had broken into the residence and looted the money as well as jewelry at gunpoint at around 09:30 AM on Wednesday (30).

Only the watchmen and businessman were present at the time of the incident.

Sri Lanka Police said investigations are underway to locate and arrest the robbers who fled the scene in a getaway car.
