No 13th Amendment or Provincial Councils; Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera

Colombo (News 1st); State Minister of Provincial Councils & Local Government Rear Admiral (Dr.) Sarath Weerasekera said he completely opposes the 13th Amendment & the Provincial Council system based on policy decisions.

The State Minister further said he opposes any move to divide or federalize the status of Sri Lanka.

"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Shivshankar Menon had called for us to speak with the TNA and solve the issue. In the post-war period, discussing matters with the TNA is like Winston Churchill speaking to the Nazis following the 02nd World War Win," said the State Minister.

He said those who call to secure provincial councils are those who want to create a separate state.
