Circular issued to streamline the functions of Grama Niladhari Officers

Colombo (News 1st); The Ministry of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management issued a new circular to streamline the functions of Grama Niladhari Officer, with effect from the 01st of October 2020.

According to the new Circular, all Grama Niladhari Officers are committed to being available 24 hours of the day on all 06 days of work.

Further, Grama Naladhari Officers are expected to remain office on Tuesday and Thursday from 08:30 AM to 04:15 PM and on Saturday from 08:30 AM to 12:30 PM to engage in public service.

Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne, the Secretary to the Ministry of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management in the circular stated Monday should be allocated for official engagements at Divisional Secretariat and one of the three remaining days should be used as a Day-Off by the Grama Niladhari Officers.
