30 people taken into police custody over Facebook party in Negombo

COLOMBO (News 1st):  A group of 30 people who attended a Facebook party held in Kochchikade, Negombo were taken into police custody. A total of 153 had attended the party and 30 were taken into custody as they failed to confirm their identities, Sri Lanka Police said on Sunday (Sep 13). Stocks of Cannabis and foreign cigarettes were also discovered in the possession of those arrested. According to Police, those taken into custody are in the age group of 18 to 25. They were strictly warned and handed over to the parents, Kochchikade Police noted.
