Colombo (News 1st): Dayasiri Jayasekara assumed duties as the State Minister of Batik, Handloom Fabrics and Local Apparel Products, at the premises of the Ministry located at the World Trade Centre at an event attended by the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Former President Maithripala Sirisena.
The Minister raised some concerns about broken promises by their coalition at the recently concluded election after a successful alliance brought President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to power.
He added that the SLFP nominate 4 names for the national list seats in a given order with two names to be added to the final list.
However, he stated that before the seats were announced, that the SLFP was not asked who the seat should be given to.
He also added that the SLFP is not ready to inconvenience the Government, saying that the SLFP is being treated the same way Mahinda Rajapaksa was treated by Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in 1994.
