No Police & Land Powers for Provincial Councils; State Minister

Colombo (News 1st); Provincial Councils will not be given Land and Police Powers said the new State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government.
Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara officially assuming duties as State Minister on Friday (13) said such powers will not be given to Provincial Councils until the harmful elements of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution are abolished.
Sarath Weerasekara strongly opposed the adoption of the 13th Amendment to the constitution.
