Professor Dhammika Ganganath Dissanayake passes away

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Japan & Former Head of the Department of Sinhala and Mass Media at Sri Jayawardenapura University, Prof. Dhammika Ganganath Dissanayake passed away, on Tuesday (Aug 11), while receiving treatment at the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama. He was 62-years-old at the time of his demise. Prof. Ganganath Dissanayake also served as the Chairman of Independent Television Network and Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. As a renowned intellectual who was closely associated with Sri Lankan mass media, Prof. Ganganath Dissanayake had published several books related to the field of mass media. Details on late Prof. Ganganath Dissanayake's funeral will be released on a later date, according to his family.
