Water Cut for multiple areas in Western Province from Thursday night

Colombo (News 1st); A 14-hour water cut will be in effect from 10 PM tonight to 12 noon on Friday (24) for multiple areas in Colombo, said the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

The areas listed by the NWS&DB are Colombo 05, Colombo 07, Colombo 08, Pitakotte, Ethul Kotte, Beddagana, Mirihana, Nugegoda, Udahamulla, Gangodawila, Madiwela, Thalapathpitiya, Pagoda, Nawala, and Moragasmulla.

In addition, Colombo 04, Colombo 06, Maharagama, and Boralesgamuwa areas will receive a low-pressure supply of water.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board said the supply of water will be disrupted as a result of urgent repairs on the supply line from Ambathale to the Kotte Jubilee Water Tank.

Further, an eight-hour water cut will be in effect from 10 PM tonight to 06 AM on Friday(24) for Battaramulla and surrounding areas.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board said the supply of water will be suspended for Battaramulla, Koswatte, Thalahena, Malabe, Jayawadanagama and Thalawathugoda.

The water cut is due to essential maintenance on the pipes supplying water to the Batapotha Water Tank.

In addition, 12-hour water cut from 08 AM to 08 PM on Friday (24) will be in effect for Wadduwa, Waskaduwa, Kalutara North, Kalutara South, Katukurunda, Nagoda, Payagala, Piliminawatte, Bombuwala, Maggona, Kaluwamodara, Moragalla, Aluthgama, Darga Town and Aluthgama.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board said the water cut is due to the supply of electricity to the Kethhena Water Treatment Plant (KWTP) being disconnected.
