Colombo (News 1st); Police Special Task Force personnel discovered 12 T-56 Assault Rifles from a house in Pitipana, Homagama.
STF arrested one suspect and identified him as an associate of incarcerated underworld gang leaders " Kosgoda Tharaka " and " Gagana ".
The raid was carried out by the Special Task Force following a tip-off.
Moreover, Sri Lanka Police arrested 729 people suspected of committing various crimes in the Western Province.
Sri Lanka Police said among them were 310 suspects wanted by authorities for 38 violent crimes and 60 minor crimes.
The Special Crime Prevention program led by Senior DIG of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon took place from 07 AM to 07 PM on Sunday.
