MCC Review Committee Final Report Given To Prime Minister

Colombo (News 1st); The Final Report of the 4- member committee appointed to review the proposed Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact (MCC) was handed over to the Prime Minister on Wednesday (24).

The committee studied the proposed Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact (MCC) for 06 months by reviewing relevant documents, conducting interviews with different individuals, and participating at seminars.

The Final Report of the committee will be handed over to the President tomorrow and thereafter the Prime Minister will table it to the Cabinet of Ministers, said the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister appointed the committee with cabinet approval and Prof. Lalithasiri Gunaruwan of the University of Colombo is the Chairman of the Committee while former Secretary to the Ministry of Transport Dr. D. S. Jayaweera, President’s Counsel Justice Nihal Jayawardena and architect Nalaka Jayaweera are the other members.
