COLOMBO (News 1st): Colombo High Court Judge, Champa Janaki Rajaratne on Wednesday (June 17) ordered for summons to be issued on Colombo district UNP Former MP Hirunika Premachandra to appear in court on the 10th of July.
Summons were issued on Former MP Hirunika Premachandra, pertaining to the case filed under indictments over aiding and abetting the abduction and inhumane assault of a young individual at a shop in Dematagoda.
When the case was called today, Hirunika Premachandra and her counsel, failed to appear in court.
The Attorney General filed a case at the Colombo High Court, against Former MP Hirunika Premachandra and 08 bodyguards, under 29 indictments including the abduction of Amila Priyantha Amarasinghe on the 21st of December 2015.
Hirunika Premachandra's bodyguards pleaded guilty of the charges at the beginning of the case proceedings and therefore they were penalized accordingly.
However, as Hirunika Premachandra did not plead guilty to the indictments, the Colombo High Court ordered for a case to proceed.
