Colombo (News 1st); The solo COVID-19 case reported on Wednesday was a Sri Lankan who returned from Kuwait and was undergoing quarantine.
Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lt. General Shavendra Silva speaking to News 1st said there are 435 active COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka with the total number of confirmed cases standing at 1,028.
At the same time, 4085 people are undergoing quarantine across 40 quarantine facilities in the country.
10,173 people were released from quarantine facilities as of today following completion of their mandatory quarantine period.
According to data from the Health Promotion Bureau 112 people are under medical observation suspected of having COVID-19.
The Health Promotion Bureau also notes more than 47,000 PCR tests were carried out thus far.
