Bogambara Prison to serve as quarantine facility for remand prisoners

Administrative Commissioner at Department of Prisons Bandula Jayasinghe speaking to News 1st said those arrested and remanded these days would be subject to a 21 day quarantine period at the Bogambara Prison.

Currently, the Boossa and Negombo prisons serve at quarantine facilities for inmates.

The Bogamaba Prison quarantine facility would be able to accommodate 500 people at any given time and following the 21 day quarantine period, remand individuals would be directed to prisons as ordered by a court.
