Motor traffic department to resume limited operations from May 20

COLOMBO (News1st) : The motor traffic department has decided to resume limited operations from May 20, while introducing a reservation system for locals to obtain services. "The appointments will be allocated only based on the National Identity Card number sequence as defined by the government," the department said in a statement. It stressed that the appointment cannot be considered as a curfew pass to travel during the curfew. Services including motor vehicle registration and  issuance of driving licences will be offered from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays, the department said.
