Samurdhi beneficiaries to receive interim payment of Rs 5000

COLOMBO (News1st): The government has decided to provide an interim payment of Rs 5000 for 2.3 million Samurdhi beneficiary families, the Prime Minister's office said. Meanwhile, the Presidential Task Force for Essential Services has announced that pensioners and beneficiaries of the senior citizen's allowance will receive these payments at their residences. This will come into effect from April 3. Arrangements have also been made to provide public servants with the Annual Festival Advance, along with allowances for the differently-abled who have registered themselves for the allowance.
