Special Unit to probe link between Norochcholai breakdown and power purchasing

Colombo (News 1st) - Minister Bandula Gunawardena speaking to reporters today said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa would assign a special unit to investigate if the Norochcholai Power Plant experiences sudden breakdowns solely for the need of private power purchasing. He said last week the Minister of Power and Energy informed the Cabinet about Norochcholai and Electricity Purchasing adding a certain section of the community engaged in a monopoly during the past and made it a habit to implement a program to make private electricity purchases.
