Colombo (News 1st): Enrolling students to the Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) in Padukka for the 2020/24 period was done today. Minister of Information and Mass Media and Minister of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Bandula Gunawardena was in attendance along with Former President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga. Speaking at the event, Weeratunga recalled memories about his university days and said that were no events held back in the day to welcome new students. He expressed how the new students were fearful as to whether they will be subject to ragging. He noted that he was able to ‘slip away’ from being ragged as he was ‘talented’ He noted, however, that if ragging can be done in a humanitarian way it is something that is not ‘too bad’
