Extraordinary Gazette issued to establish Sainthamaruthu Urban Council

COLOMBO (News 1st):- An Extraordinary Gazette notification has been issued for the establishment of a new urban council for Sainthamaruthu which was governed by the Kalmunai Urban Council. The gazette has been issued with the signature of the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Janaka Bandara Tennakoon. The official term of the Sainthamaruthu urban council will thereby begin on the 20th of March 2022. The Kalmunei Urban Council which is in effect currently will be dismissed on the 19th of March 2022. The new administrative boundaries of the Sainthamaruthu Urban Council have been marked including 17 Grama Seva Divisions.
