Health Ministry issues Coronavirus guidelines for health sector

Colombo (News 1st) - A special circular containing a set of guidelines to avoid the contraction of the Coronavirus has been issued to doctors and officials attached to the health sector. Director of Health Services, Dr.Anil Jasinghe said, it has been made compulsory for medical teams at the BIA and staff at all hospitals to wear protective face masks, gloves, and head covering. The Ministry of Health has also issued a 4 paged booklet with a set of guidelines to be followed in order to ward off the threat of being afflicted by the Coronavirus. It has also been made compulsory for all passengers arriving in the island to complete the information form provided to them on arrival. Director of Health Services, Dr.Anil Jasinghe said, the itinerary of the visitors including their travel schedule, time frame and intended destinations of travel as well as lodging would be recorded. Public Health Inspectors and officials from the Ministry of Health have been assigned for the task.
