Prison inmate brought before PCoI probing 4/21 attacks

Colombo (News 1st): A suspect in custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has been summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the 04/21 attack to provide statements. Our correspondent stated that the person's face was covered and brought into the Commission so as not to be seen by the media or outside persons. A spokesman for the commission said the recording of evidence from the suspect began around 10:35 this morning. Meanwhile, retired DIG Meryl Mettananda Gunaratne gave evidence before the commission yesterday (Jan 17). A spokesman for the commission said he provided evidence to the commission for over 4 hours.
