Government to tackle mobile phone usage at government offices - Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon

COLOMBO (News 1st):- An event to distribute land deeds was held in Matale yesterday (January 16) under the auspices of Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon. At the event, the Minister of Provincial Councils & Local Government speaking to those gathered highlighted the need for state employees to give prominence to the public service. He also commented on them using social media or mobile phones while at work, which he added is considered as absconding from their duties. The Minister firmly stated that if such practices continue that they will be compelled to impose rules and regulations and therefore requested all state sector employees, to be honest, and utilize their time for public service.
