COLOMBO (News 1st) - Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that Sri Lanka has become a hub for US military and non-military operations through the ACSA agreement. He warns that if a war broke out in the Middle East, Sri Lanka would become a supply hub for the US.
He blamed this situation on the Mahinda Rajapaksa led government which signed the ACSA agreement in the year 2007. Sajith Premadasa added that this would render Sri Lanka vulnerable.
In addition, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka commenting on Ranjan Ramanayake's controversial recordings stated that they are of no value and it is 'a disgraceful act'.
According to Field Marshal Fonseka, the recordings are not a national issue and the government is using them to get Duminda Silva out of the prison.
