A. Bodaragama appointed as Commissioner-General of Excise

COLOMBO(News 1st) - A. Bodaragama has been appointed as the new Excise Commissioner-General. Deputy Excise Commissioner Kapila Kumarasinghe stated that the new Commissioner General is to assume duties tomorrow (January 14). New Excise Commissioner-General A.Bodaragama started his journey at the Excise Department as an Excise Inspector and served 34 years. He had served in a number of areas such as Kalutara, Ampara, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Matale, Colombo and had served his duties as the Acting Commissioner-General of the Excise Department in 2016. This is the first time in 23 years that a member of the Excise Department has been appointed as the Commissioner-General of the Excise Department.
