1. The two-day adjournment motion debate on the Government Policy Statement made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is to commence at 01:00 pm today (January 7) at the Parliament. 2. IGP Pujith Jayasundara, who was sent on compulsory leave, and ex-Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando were remanded until January 20th. 3. Thusitha Dilum Kumara, who served as MP Patali Champika Ranawaka’s driver, was released on bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana Silva despite objections raised by the Attorney General. 4. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka announced its road map for monetary and financial sector policies for 2020. 5. Seven passengers died as a Sri Lanka Transport Board bus veered off a precipice close to the 06th-mile post on the Passara-Madulsima Road in Badulla. 6.
