Protesters take to the streets with a dead body

COLOMBO(News 1st) - A group of people took to the streets and blocked the Kurunegala-Matale main road at the Kelemulla junction while carrying the remains of a man who they claim was beaten to death when he was in prison. Speaking to News 1st on the matter, Prisons Commissioner General Jayasiri Tennakoon said the Kegalle Prison Superintendent was instructed to conduct an investigation into the matter. He said a complaint would also be made with the Sri Lanka Police.
