UNP is in need of new leadership: MP Ajith P Perera

Colombo (News 1st): MP Ajith P Perera expressed the following views at a media briefing regarding the future of the United National Party. He noted that new leadership is needed for the UNP and for the opposition. He added that everyone who voted for them and the ones who didn't vote for them know, that to strengthen democracy the UNP should be strengthed. He went onto note that if political power is concentrated to one end the people's rights will be limited and everyone has agreed on this matter and this should be resolved soon. He said everything that goes away from them is important and that they hope that by the end of April there will be a General Election. The Parliamentarian thanked Ranil Wickremesinghe for the work he had done for this country and party but noted that it is time for a new leader now.
