Reservoir water levels at their highest this year

Colombo (News 1st) - The Ministry of Power and Renewable energy notes that water levels in reservoirs linked to hydropower plants are at their highest level this year. Media Spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardene noted that hydropower generation now accounts for 50% of the power generated in the country. The water levels of the reservoirs are as follows, Samanala Wewa reservoir - 100% Castlereigh Reservoir - 94.6% Maussakelle Reservoir - 90.5% Kothmale Reservoir - 87.7% Victoria Reservoir - 80.2% Randenigala Reservoir - 49.2%
