Colombo (News 1st): A heated conversation took place in parliament last evening (November 7), during the debate on the adjournment motion, when UNP MP Mujibur Rahuman noted that Varadaraja who once held the Eelam flag stands on SLPP's political stage today. He noted that Hizbullah signed an agreement with Zaharan and currently Hizbullah is contesting to support Gotabaya Rajapaksa. MP Rahuman added that Hizbullah's second preference would be Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He noted that when Gotabaya Rajapaksa unveiled his manifesto, he requested everyone to give their second preference to Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The parliamentarian said this is where Hizbullah, who entered into agreements with Zaharan in Kattankudy, stands today. However, Ananda Aluthgamage noted that they have not spoken about a second preference that MP Mujibur Rahuman speaks of. He added that they will not keep room for a second preference to be counted during the upcoming presidential election. MP Mujibur Rahuman went onto note that it was Hizbullah who told to cast their second preference for Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He said Mahinda Rajapaksa has urged Hizbullah to contest the upcoming election. He said there was a meeting between Hizbullah and Mahinda Rajapaksa, where Hizbullah wanted to support Gotabaya Rajapaksa's political campaign, however, Mahinda Rajapaksa told Hizbullah to join them during the next election, and to contest the upcoming election separately and break off the votes from the Muslim community. He went onto note that Mahinda Rajapaksa had told Hizbullah that he could join him during the general elections. He said Hizbullah is contesting because he can break off about 15,000 or 20,000 votes from the votes Sajith Premadasa will obtain from the Muslim community. He added that the April attacks were a massive drawback to Sri Lanka, however, the people of this country have now realized, who were behind Zaharan's attacks. MP Rahuman noted that the entire country knows who supported Zaharan. He said DIG Nalaka Silva testifying at the parliament special committee revealed this information. The parliamentarian noted that in the report from page 111 until page 135 DIG Nalaka Silva says, "I was prepared with all the documents, and had presented the B report to the Colombo Hultsdorf court to obtain an open warrant. As I obtained the open warrant, they arrested me, claiming that I had plans to assassinate the President and Gotabaya Rajapaksa." He said these were revealed through the testimony of the former DIG at the TID, Nalaka Silva, therefore it is clear, Zaharan was used to achieve someone's political objectives. MP Rahuman noted that in order to gain power, they used the lives of people as bait. Member of Parliament Ananda Aluthgamage responding to this noted that Mujibur Rahuman was to present several proposals. He said leaders representing the Tamil communities have presented a few proposals, however, the leaders representing the Muslim communities had not presented any proposals. Aluthgamage went onto note that several political parties have presented various proposals on behalf of the Muslim community and within this political stage, it is very clear, other than benefiting from the taxpayers' money, these Muslim leaders have no intention to serve the Muslim community.
