Prison warden with narcotic substances arrested at Agunukolapelessa Prison

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A prison warden was arrested at the gate when he was entering the Agunukolapelessa Prison for the possession of drugs. The police spokesman, SSP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that the Special Task Force conducted an operation based on a tip-off that led to the arrest. More than 10 grams of heroin, 14 grams of cannabis and over 27 grams of narcotic pills were discovered in his possession. According to the Police spokesman, the warden may be involved in smuggling drugs into the Prison to be sold among the inmates. The 32-year-old resident of Tangalle will be produced to the Angunukolapelessa Magistrate court today (November 07).
