COLOMBO(News 1st) – Chairman of Avant-Garde Major Nissanka Senadipathi has been remanded until the 8th of November.
The order was given after he was produced at the Permanent High Court Trial At Bar today(October 17) by the Criminal Investigations Department.
Major Nissanka Senadipathi, who visited Singapore for treatment, was arrested at around 11:30 am today(October 17) at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
A case has been filed against him and 12 others at the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar by the Attorney General. The case has been filed under 7573 charges including, the possession of over 816 automatic weapons, 2395 rounds of live ammunition without proper legal consent, on a vessel named MV Avant-Garde under Avant Guard Maritime Services.
