COLOMBO(News 1st) - Minister of Health, Dr Rajitha Senaratne did not appear today (September 19) at the Presidential Commission of inquiry probing fraud and corruption committed during the past 04 years.
The Minister, who was requested to be present at the Commission at 12:30 this afternoon, had informed the commission that he would not be able to present himself as he has to attend a special cabinet meeting and a meeting of the Parliamentary Select Committee.
The minister was expected to testify in relation to a complaint filed with the commission citing government funds were allocated for the Dr Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital without the proper acquisition of the property.
The complaint was lodged by Dr Haritha Aluthge, the Secretary of the GMOA.
